Main Info
There is no better way to experience Yuletide this year than spend it across 3 countries in North Africa.
North Africa is traditionally said to be made up of eight countries: Egypt and Sudan, through Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria to Morocco, Western Sahara, and Mali in the west.
We would however be visiting Egypt, the famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world’s most famous monuments, including the Giza pyramids, the Great Sphinx.
Then next to Tunisia, where we will be wowed with its wide array of historical attractions, including the ancient city of Carthage in Tunis, and the huge Amphitheatre of El Jem (like the Roman Colosseum).
And finally, Morocco where we will be move across 4 cities and get the full flavour of Morocco, from the red city in Marrakesh to the economic capital Casablanca and finally the famous ‘blue city’ Chefchaouen.

Traditional North African food draws inspiration from the culinary traditions of Europe, Africa, and the Arab Middle East. From the rich tagines of Morocco to the harissa-spiced dishes of Tunisia, to the Kushari in Egypt, the sea-meets-desert cuisine offers of the wealth of hearty, comforting, and complex meals worth getting to know. You would be spoilt with choices when it comes to drinks in the three countries, from Moroccan mint tea, to Egyptian Hibiscus tea to Lemon tea in Tunisia. For those who love their ‘fermented tea’ aka wine, these North African countries have a plethora of wines for you. For those who love their spicy peppers, please do not forget to pack it because the level of spicy heat might not match your palate.
SLEEP As you may already know, we only use 4 *and 5* accommodation with a higher chance of us choosing a 5 when presented with the opportunity. Sleeping in an amazing accommodation for us is important for our rejuvenation and believe it should be for you too and that is why this trip would be a blend of 4 and 5 hotels across all cities and countries. EXPLORE There is no better way to experience Yuletide this year than spend it across 3 countries in North Africa. Start off by exploring the ancient city of Cairo in Egypt before we proceed to Tunisia and finally end our holidays in Morocco.
Egypt is the must-see tourist destination to spend the Christmas holiday, where you will adopt some distinctive traditions of the Christmas celebrations. Now for travellers, Christmas is not only Egypt’s religious celebrations but also cultural carnival. We will explore her pyramids, temples and tombs, museums also, and explore the Nile and the treasures that line its west bank. The only regret we would have is not having enough time as we have to proceed to Tunisia is known for its shimmering beaches in the cities of Tunis Hammamet and Sousse and it’s well-acclaimed ‘Mykonos of Africa’s in the little blue and whitewashed town of Sidi Bou Said. We will end our North Africa trip in Morocco, one of our unarguably favourite countries in the world.
We will commence in Casablanca then proceed to celebrate the new year is in the tourist city of Marrakesh, before proceeding to the remarkable blue wash Medina in Chefchaouen. This is a once in a lifetime expedition you cannot afford to miss.
Verdict!!! This is a historical and cultural trip and people of these interests would love it. From the architecture across the 3 countries to the food and drinks, and to the people. You will not run out of things to see. This trip requires three flights and lots of road travel, so please ensure you can cope with this before signing up. December is a cold month in these 3 countries, and you would get daytime temperatures of up to 15 degrees which drops to 8 degrees at night (so do not forget to pack something warm) |
