Balkan Tour Road Trip Itinerary
In city centre you will visit the picturesque Central open-air Market, Baroque Town Hall, the
Triple Bridge, Robba’s Fountain and the Parliament building.
Afternoon in Lake Bled.
Ljubljana – Zagreb – Plitvice
After breakfast, departure to Zagreb (2.5 hrs.).
Visit Zagreb. Zagreb has grown out of the two medieval settlements, Kaptol and Gradec that for centuries developed on neighbouring hills.
See the historic upper town, St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, the
Parliament and the Government Palace.
Day 03: Plitvice – Split
Visit Plitvice Lakes. Embraced by high wooded mountains, one beneath another lie sixteen
beautiful lakes of crystal blue-green water.
Day 04: Split – Blagaj – Sarajevo
Split’s history is more than 1700 years old. Tour includes Diocletian’s palace, St. Duje’s
Cathedral, Peristil, the statue of Gregory, The Golden Gate, Vestibul and much more! Travel
through time and admire Split’s must-see art and architecture and unlock Split’s many
Drive to Blagaj (BiH – 3 hrs). Blagaj is a place with the largest karst spring in Europe, with a
beautiful Dervish Tekke – today’s, attractive monument. Continue driving to Sarajevo (3hrs).
Day 05: Sarajevo
Sarajevo is one of the most oriental and culturally diverse cities in Europe and had spent
over 300 years under Turkish rule until the Austro-Hungarians arrived in the late nineteenth
century. Visit the Tunnel of Hope the tour begins with a short ride to the War Tunnel where you will be introduced to the origins of the Balkans conflict, for gaining the better understanding of the Aggression of BiH and the Sarajevo Siege.
Day 06: Sarajevo – Mostar – Dubrovnik
Transfer to Mostar (2.5 hrs.)
Arriving to Mostar for sightseeing (the old bridge, mosques, old streets of Mostar, museum,
etc.). Continue driving to Dubrovnik (3 hrs).
Day 07: Dubrovnik – Kotor
Start with the walking tour of Old Town Dubrovnik. The ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, situated on
the Dalmatian coast, became an important Mediterranean Sea power from the 13th century
onward. Protected by UNESCO.
Drive to Kotor (2.5 hrs). Upon arrival, visit Kotor Old Town. Kotor is a beautiful walled
medieval city of twisting, pink-paved streets, markets and architecture reflecting Byzantine
to Venetian influences.
Day 08: Kotor – Budva – Shkodra – Tirana
Transfer to Budva, stop for refreshments in the Old Town of Budva/MONTENEGRO. (40
min). We’ll continue our driving to Shkodra (2 hrs). During its long history, the city has played
important role in Albanian culture and history. Shkodra is also the centre of Albanian
Catholicism as well as a fine example of tolerance between religions. Proceed in Tirana (2
Day 09: Tirana – Ohrid
We shall explore the capital city of Albania, including some of the historical highlights in the
city centre. Drive to Ohrid/Macedonia (3.5 hrs.)
Ohrid is classified as a UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage site. Sightseeing tour includes the most eminent medieval monuments in
Macedonia with Magnificent Byzantine painted Frescos.
Day 10: Ohrid – Bitola – Kalambaka Drive to Bitola/ MACEDONIA.
Stop for refreshments to Sirok Sokak Continue to Kalambaka (4 hrs.)
Day 11: Kalambaka – Athens
Meteora is a religious place with many Byzantine churches and
Monasteries. Explore the great stories of construction ingenuity and survival skills of the
local people. Transfer to Athens (5 hrs.) The Acropolis hill, so called the “Sacred Rock” of
Athens is the most important site of the city. Overnight in Athens.
Day 12: Depart Athens for Nigeria or depart for Santorini
